Date added: 23 Jan 2017 Review Arco @ imm 2017

From 15 till 22 January 2017 the annual imm Cologne took place. We presented the newest designs from Jorre van Ast and Gudmundur Ludvik in our showroom in Design Post Köln.

During imm 2017, we introduced a new addition to our Local wood collection: Trestle Table. Trestle Table recasts the functional look of the trestle to create a generously proportioned table that will complement any living space. The solid, rectangular table top creates a striking contrast to the dynamic supports. It almost seems to float on the two aluminium trestles, although it actually sits securely on threaded pins. Eating, working, meeting and celebrating all take place at one and the same table, which as a result becomes a multi-purpose item of furniture. Thanks to its mobility and minimalistic design, Trestle Table serves a wide range of functions. Combined with chairs from the Arco collection it creates an inviting place for people to come together. The two-part table top is supported at each end by a three-legged aluminium trestle, the height of which can be adjusted from 71 to 78 cm. This means that the table can be easily transported, set up and adapted to the intended purpose. The versatile Trestle Table comes in four sizes and looks good in a wide range of living spaces. We are Arco, we make tables.

We presented our new table in combination with the Close Bench. To accompany our Close chair around the dining table, the Icelandic designer Gudmundur Ludvik designed the Close Bench. The outer contours of the seat and backrest, which were consciously designed as two distinct shapes, consist of clean, geometric lines. Yet these lines still feel like they wrap around anyone who sits on the bench, suggesting an organically sculpted nest. The brief was to create a comfortable chair of the highest quality. The result was the harmonious blend of hard and soft lines that constitutes the designer’s signature style. The minimalist shape of the frame, which comes in wood or steel, reinforces the dynamic elements of the design. Available as a two-, three- or four-seater, the bench is comfortable to sit on and features a minimalist, streamlined design. Although especially suitable for the dining area, the Close Bench can serve in a range of settings from residential to restaurants and lounges to offices with equal ease.

We not only presented our newest designs.  Our stand was as well marked by our new material- and color collection. We presented the new materials and colors on a wall with samples and some of our products were carried out in the new materials and colors.
